Anterior Cervical Discectomy & Fusion

Overview

Anterior cervical discectomy and fusion surgery involve removing an intervertebral disc and/or bone spurs that are compressing nerve roots. This is typically performed due to a herniated or degenerated disc.

Procedure Steps:

• Incision made in the front of the neck
• Removal of the herniated disc
• Insertion of a bone graft for fusion
• Possible addition of a metal plate for stabilization

• Lack of coordination
